Trumbull ZIP Codes and Coverage
Postal geography and municipal geography overlap, but they are not the same set. A ZIP code is a delivery area. A Trumbull parcel has a town, situs address, PID or MBLU, legal description, and map location. The table captures the confirmed postal references from the research rather than guessing at an unlisted split or institution code.
| ZIP | Areas Covered | Post Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 06611 | Trumbull municipal addresses in the reviewed official material | Trumbull Post Office, 50 Quality Street | Confirmed Trumbull reference; exact address lookup controls. |
| 06612 | Adjacent Easton postal area | Easton Post Office, 295 Center Road | Not confirmed here as a general Trumbull delivery ZIP. |
No additional ZIP serving a Trumbull street, PO-box-only Trumbull ZIP, unique-institution ZIP, split year, or per-ZIP resident table was located. The safe conclusion is 06611 for the confirmed Trumbull addresses and 06612 as Easton boundary context.
The postal evidence is deliberately narrow. USPS material lists the Trumbull Post Office at 50 Quality Street and places 06612 with the Easton Post Office at 295 Center Road. That does not create a town-wide resident count or prove that every parcel near the line uses the same city label. A delivery route can serve a road whose legal parcels sit in more than one municipality. Keep the returned postal label beside, rather than inside, the municipal address field.
Trumbull 06611 Delivery Area
The official USPS material places Trumbull and the Trumbull Post Office at 50 Quality Street in 06611. Town Hall, the public library, police, Historical Society, and the other municipal addresses reviewed use 06611. A ZIP code directory can therefore use 06611 as the first postal filter for Trumbull, but it should still resolve each address through USPS.
USPS's exact tool asks for a residential or business street address, city, and state and returns the delivery ZIP and ZIP+4. The research capture did not render a sample result in the unattended session. Do not substitute a town-wide assumption for the returned label, especially near the Trumbull and Easton line.
The Town's real-estate page routes researchers to the assessor database:
The page is a municipal parcel starting point, not a ZIP-wide resident roster.
Finding Trumbull Residents by ZIP
A ZIP code directory search should define which set is being requested. Postal delivery points, municipal parcels, voter registrations, license records, and historic telephone listings do not contain the same people or addresses. A name and ZIP search may narrow a credential file, but it cannot prove that every person in 06611 has been found.
- Use USPS ZIP Code Lookup with the exact street, city, and state; save the returned ZIP and ZIP+4.
- Use Vision by address, owner, PID, ACT NUMBER, or Street Listing because the public assessor form has no ZIP field.
- Use GIS parcel geometry to check the legal town boundary, road name, building point, and nearby parcels.
- Use DCP eLicense only when the question concerns a credential record that accepts city, state, and ZIP filters.
- For a person or household, move to the name, voter, court, vital, or historical custodian and retain the postal result as one matching clue.
Once a ZIP narrows the search to a street, the address chain belongs in the Trumbull street directory, where parcel and deed fields are handled separately.
A ZIP-wide request also needs a defined result. “All Trumbull parcels” means a municipal set. “All 06611 delivery points” means a postal set. “Credentials in 06611” means an eLicense set. “People listed in a 1955 telephone book” means a historical subscriber set. The four groups can differ because they use different keys, dates, and disclosure rules. Write that definition before comparing a search result with another source.
Trumbull ZIP-Capable Search Fields
Vision does not expose a ZIP search field. Its useful fields are Address, Owner Name, ACT NUMBER, MBLU, PID, Street Listing, and Sales Search. That design means a ZIP-wide parcel question must be broken into addresses or a street list. A voter lookup uses town, name, and date of birth, not ZIP. Civil Inquiry accepts property address only for specified case searches, not a general ZIP roster.
DCP eLicense is the clearest public portal with geographic ZIP fields. Its form includes License Type, Type Prefix, License Number, License Status, Business Name or DBA, First Name, Last Name, Address City, State, ZIP, and Country. The instructions recommend one or two strong fields. A credential result shows a regulated record, not every resident in the postal area.
The eLicense ZIP fields appear in this official capture:
Save the regulator, credential type, result date, and status when using a ZIP as a filter.
DCP describes eLicense as a public, real-time source covering more than 800 credential types. A result may include a mailing address, credential number, type, effective date, expiration date, scope, and supervisor where applicable. A missing Trumbull or 06611 result can mean that the person has no credential in that database, the address field differs, or a different regulator owns the record. Insurance credentials, for example, use a separate Connecticut Insurance Department route.
Trumbull Address Keys Beyond ZIP
Stable municipal keys are better than postal labels for following an address through local records. Vision's PID, ACT NUMBER, and MBLU can connect a location to a parcel card. GIS maps that parcel and its neighboring geometry. RecordHub indexes grantor, grantee, book/page, and legal description. Municipal Searches uses an address and permit number. USPS resolves delivery, but it does not establish title or the legal town.
| Label | Use |
|---|---|
| ZIP / ZIP+4 | Postal delivery routing for an exact address. |
| Situs or location | Assessor and map address for the parcel. |
| PID / ACT NUMBER | Municipal identifiers for a parcel or account. |
| MBLU | Map, cut, block, lot, and unit components in the Vision format. |
| Legal description | Recorded deed or map description that controls title. |
The street-assessor search illustrates the difference between a postal clue and a municipal key:
Carry the PID or MBLU to a follow-up request instead of trying to turn 06611 into a legal parcel identifier.
Municipal address work also uses the Building Department and Town Clerk. A permit request keys to an exact address and may divide current responses from pre-December 31, 2013 street cards. A recorded deed keys to grantor, grantee, book/page, and legal description. A voter lookup keys to name, town, and date of birth. None of those systems accepts a ZIP as a universal resident-directory shortcut.
For quality control, record the address exactly as entered, the postal result, the legal town, and the parcel identifier as separate fields. That small habit helps explain a mismatch instead of hiding it. It also makes a later check repeatable when USPS changes a delivery label or a municipal database updates its address display.
ZIP and Town Boundaries in Trumbull
06612 is documented as the adjacent Easton ZIP, not as a general Trumbull ZIP in the source set. A mailing label near the line can therefore say Easton while a parcel remains legally in Trumbull, or the reverse question can arise when a road crosses a town boundary. The USPS city label, legal municipality, assessor situs, and GIS polygon should be stored in separate fields.
The research found no official Trumbull street-renumbering, ZIP split, annexation readdressing, or E911 change project with a date. When a historic address seems to disagree with a current postal label, compare the deed's legal description, parcel map, directory locality, church or cemetery place name, and current PID. Do not invent a conversion.
Boundary check. An exact USPS result answers delivery. GIS and the recorded legal description answer municipal and title questions. One does not replace the other.
There is no current Fairfield County addressing office to resolve the difference. Connecticut county governments ended in 1960, so a boundary question belongs with the town's GIS, assessor, Building, E911, or Clerk route as appropriate. When a new or corrected address matters for an emergency or legal filing, ask the responsible town office instead of relying on a directory label.
Trumbull Place Names and Postal Clues
Historic directories may use Bridgeport District, North Stratford, Nichols, Tashua, Long Hill, Unity, or Trumbull Center. These words can reflect a telephone exchange, church, village, fire district, planning area, or historical label. They are useful search variants when a name or street does not appear under the modern postal city.
Telephone evidence is periodic. The Library of Congress runs from 1930 through 1961/62 are regional, and a historic exchange can cover more than one town. Preserve the book, page, exchange, and printed locality. A modern ZIP result should be added as a new observation, not used to rewrite the old entry.
Limits of a Trumbull ZIP Directory
A ZIP code directory cannot show every resident, owner, voter, subscriber, or credential holder in a delivery area. Vision has no ZIP filter, the voter tool is not ZIP based, the town's permit route is address based, and a license filter covers only credentials in that system. A no-result can reflect a nonpublic field, a wrong custodian, or a postal and legal boundary mismatch.
For a name, use a resident lookup. For a whole street, use parcel and address records. For an older household, use the city directory collection, church, cemetery, probate, deed, or census route. Keep personal research lawful and respect Safe at Home, voter privacy, §1-217 redactions, and other protected-address rules. Postal convenience never overrides a protected address or a custodian's access rule.
